Here are our three best hard tackle boxes.
Quick Navigation
Plano Angled Tackle System
Plano is known for providing some of the best rated fiishing tackle boxes. Their Tackle System is no exception. The front compartment of this solid box accommodates 3 boxes, size 2-3560 each. The sides, both on the lateral and the top, have lids that give in into other storage spaces where you can keep various tools. This is my favorite ice fishing tackle box.
- Main compartment Presents utility boxes at a 15 degree angle Purview covers and doors Includes three 2-3650 stowaway utility boxes
- Main compartment presents utility boxes at a 15 degree angle
- DuraView covers and doors
- Includes three 2-3650 Stowaway Utility boxes
The 3 boxes in the main compartment are positioned at a 15o angle, which makes it so much easier to get your tackle quickly and hassle-free. The main top compartment features a huge storage space that you can customize however you want by using the separators Another nice thing about the Tackle System is that the lids are transparent, so you can spot the tackle you need within seconds. The box comes with 3 large boxes and 2 medium-sized ones. Considering that we’re talking about a Plano product here, these boxes are high-quality and won’t break easily.
If you ask us, this is the very peak of organization.
The compartments are very well-though and nothing feels out of place. Regardless of how much fishing tools you have, you can rest assured you’ll get a place for them in this Tackle System. One thing we’ve noticed on solid boxes is that they tend to reek of fish once you’ve actually gone fishing and used some of the tackle. Plano has created a tasteful solution to that: the box has a few holes drilled in it to facilitate the circulation of the air. This way, you won’t faint every time you open the lid. Believe it or not, this amazing tackle box comes for approx. $35. Consequently, it’s really the best Plano box you can purchase at the moment.

Flambeau Outdoors Tackle Box Review
Now we’re talking about space! This tackle box features no less than 7 different trays with tens of dividers. By using those, you’ll be able to organize your fishing tackle like never before.
- Flambeau Outdoors Hip Roof Tackle Box
- 7-tray storage for multiple types of lures
- Interlocking tongue-and-groove closure with drawtite latches
- Rugged, durable construction
The box folds sideways: 3 trays on each side and 1 storage space at the bottom. It’s really similar to a toolbox. The closure is a tongue-and-groove type and makes a good pair with the drawtite latches. This closing system ensures that your equipment will be stored safely at all times. The top lid has two holders for beverages – we all know that those are going to be used solely for beer cans. Solid boxes tend to get heavier the more gear you store in them. However, this Flambeau tackle box is really lightweight for its size.
This has been used for a wide variety of purposes: electricians have used it for storing all sorts of electrical; jewelers have used it for storing tiny pieces of jewelry, etc. This stands to show that this is as versatile as a box can get. One downside of this product is that the trays it comes with are way flimsier than they should be. This is the main reason why we’ve put this product as a runner-up instead of a winner, even though it’s larger than the previous Flambeau tackle box. You have to be really careful as to prevent a tray from breaking. Unfortunately, these trays cannot be replaced with sturdier ones, so this will definitely put off many people and drive them away from the product.

Flambeau Outdoors Hip Roof Tackle Box | $30.29 | Amazon |
1. Flambeau Waterproof Satchel Box
This tackle box is different than the ones we’ve looked at until now, in the sense that it’s got glide trays instead of removable ones. That is really no big deal. This satchel is waterproof and made of heavy-duty plastic.
- Flambeau 4000WPNC waterproof
- Hard tackle boxes
- Manufactured in United States
It is not as large as other tackle boxes, but it’s suitable for a casual fishing trip on a kayak. The last thing you want when fishing from a kayak is a heavy, bulgy tackle box. It can easily unbalance the kayak and before you know it, you’ll be fishing with your bare hands. The box features a total of 5 inner storage compartments: 3 large ones on the bottom and 2 in the form of gliding trays. The top lid has 10-12 compartments for fishing lures, hooks and other tiny pieces of equipment that you need handy.
